The Return of the Milla Jovovich Quarterly
I've been a huge fan of Milla Jovovich since I first became aware of her, probably in "The Fifth Element." For a while, I was doing "The Milla Jovovich Quarterly" here at Shades of Grey, but I started to run low on interesting black-and-white pictures, so I stopped.
However, I have restocked, and I now resume regularly scheduled Milla Jovovich appearances by closing out 2016 with one! Join her in a prayer that 2016 Spectre of Death won't claim anymore victims!

Countdown to Halloween: 17 Days to Go
on this Fantastic Friday!
It's time for the October visit from American's First Family of Comics--the Fantastic Four!
The Fantastic Four deal mostly with aliens and scientific threats--the closest they come to Halloweenish adventures are dealing with their archnemisis Dr. Doom when he decides to augment his hi-tech weapons with dark magical secrets that he inherited from his mother--but they frequently travel to the alternate universe known as the Negative Zone to defend Earth from its monstrous denizens. Continuing the countdown to Halloween, John Byrne delivers two scenes from battles in that dark realm!

Countdown to Halloween: 22 Days to Go!
Today, I'm showing off the first sketch of the cover illo for "Secrets of the Witchkind," a d20 System product I designed for NUELOW Games that's releasing this week. You can see the final at the NUELOW Games blog by clicking here.
"Secrets of the Witchkind" was partially inspired by the classic television show "Bewitched." It chronicles the adventures of a witch who falls in love with a mortal, marries him, and tries to give up her magic. The first season is especially interesting, as many of the episodes almost seem like allegories for anti-racism and pro-equal rights arguments, and an interesting look into how gender roles have changed for married couples since the 1960s Does the sort of "normal housewife" that Samantha tries so hard to be even exist anymore?

Countdown to Halloween: 24 Days to Go!
For roughly three years, I posted weekly pictures and mini-profiles of horror movie actresses under the heading Saturday Scream Queens. This is the first of a couple similar posts that will be appearing here as part of the Countdown to Halloween.
Today's subject is Native American actress, dancer, model, and mother of two daughters, Cheyenne King. She's been in a handful of indie horror films, and she's someone I would like to see more of the same from. (You can read reviews of two of her films, as well as see a music video she starred in, at Terror Titans.)

NUELOW Games and Marv Wolfman
Through an arrangement with Marv Wolfman, NUELOW Games recently published a collection his "Love Witch" stories. These were originally published by Skywald back in the early 1970s. Here are a couple sample pages.
The book featuring the comics is titled, not surprisngly, "Love Witch." In addition to the two fantastic excursions into dark fantasy that is "Love Witch," the book features a third Wolfman fantasy story--"Cassandra of the Seventh Wind"--and an RPG section by yours truly that lets you bring Cassandra and the Love Witch's magic to d20 System campaigns.
"Love Witch," however, isn't the only work by Wolfman that graces NUELOW's line-up of titles. He also wrote the comics featured in NUELOW's "Monster Monster: Soul Drinkers" (which contains RPG rules by Andrew Pavlides that translates the creature featured in Wolfman's story to D&D 5th Edition), and in "Lady Satan 2004" (where you will find d20 System game rules that let players create characters who are the literal children of Satan, designed once again by yours truly). Here are sample pages from those books:

They are part of NUELOW Games's ongoing effort to put unjustly forgotten comics for year's past in front of new readers. Each title includes the comics, together with all-new roleplaying game material and fiction inspired by them. Click here to see the complete line-up of NUELOW's comics/rpg hybrid titles. You may find your new favorite comics among them.
