Don't forget Xmas gifts for the Machine People!

Ballerina dancing with flour

We're welcoming a new sponsor to Shades of Gray: Winkleton's Machine People Emporium. It's Slaughter Valley's premier outlet for Machine People accessories and enhancements, and it's the perfect place to get a Christmas gift for your non-biological friends and neighbors!

Mention Shades of Gray or NUELOW Games while shopping at Winkleton's and get a 25% to 50% discount on purchases!

Even if you're not local to the Slaughter Valley, we think it will be worth the trip. Winkleton's is a fascinating place--and while their business is primarily focused on Machine People, they also carry items that will make great gifts for any Mandroids in your lives. (While you're in the Slaughter Valley area, there are a whole host of other interesting places to visit, including scenic Slaughtermouth Seaside Resort.

But -- whether you are coming from near or far, you need to get some Christmas gifts for the Machine People. If the Machine People have a Merry Christmas, there's a better chance of you having a Happy New Year.

It's a Mohammed Monday!

THIS WEEK WITH JESUS & MO

Happy birthday, Alyssa Milano

Actress and activist Alyssa Milano turns 50 years old today. Here are a few pictures in celebration.

Milano began her life and career in the public eye as a child actress, successfully navigated the transition into having a successful career as a grown-up actress, too. Throughout the past four decades, she's remained busy with starring or recurring roles on television series, as well as the occasional appearance on the Big Screen.

Although she in recent years has been best known for her strident public activism in defense of women and their rights (a position from which she retreated with amazing speed once Joe Biden became the Democratic Party's nominee in 2020), she still acts as a sideline.

Missy Peregrym returns to duty!

We're a bit behind in our television viewing here at Shades of Gray, so we just noticed that Missy Peregrym is back from maternity leave and has returned to playing Maggie Bell on CBS's "FBI".

Here's a small gallery of pictures in celebration!

Musical Monday with Beyonce

Beyonce Knowles and Brett G Smith in "Dance For You" (2011)

Here's a music video that seems to embody the historical and stylistic mishmash that is the content of this blog!

Dance For You (2011)
Starring: Beyonce Knowles and Brett G. Smith
Directors: Alan Ferguson and Beyonce Knowles
Rating: Eight of Ten Stars

It's night in the city, and a private eye receives an unexpected visit...

This video would have gotten a rating of Ten Out of Ten Stars if it had ended with the Private Eye saying, "That's great, doll. But it's still twenty dollars a day, plus expenses."

What are the dancers up to?

On International Dance Day 2022, the ballerinas ran off into the wild. We're trying to keep track of them, and we'll try to bring you updates on the last Wednesday of each month until International Dance Day 2023.

It's cold and rainy. How are the dancers doing? Well, they generally aren't letting the weather get to them...

... but some have sought temporary shelter.

Welcome to Black Cat Friday!

Black Cat portrait by Mark Bagley

It's the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S., and it's nicknamed Black Friday because it's the day when many merchants turn their balance sheets from red to black (turing a profit for the year) and customers are out looking for deals/steals.

A friend of Shades of Gray recently pointed out something we had not considered, despite it being obvious: Felicia Hardy aka The Black Cat, expert sneakthief and Spider-Man's long-time frenemy, it a great spokesperson for all that Black Friday is about!

We hope you find deals that make you feel like you're the Black Cat while shopping today. And we offer a few more portraits of Ms. Hardy, who may well be the patron saint of Black Friday (from a consumer's perspective at least).
