International Dance Day Aftermath...

When it's chilly in the theatre during your performance and you had just a touch too many baked beans and a little too much cabbage while celebrating International Dance Day!

Hitler's Suicide Note

On this day, 80 years ago, Adolf Hitler took the coward's way out and killed himself as his Third Reich was being reduced to rubble by Allied ground- and air-forces. We mark this day by re-presenting Ruka-Ruka Ali's classic song where he put Hitler's suicide note to music.

Note: We just learned that Rucka-Rucka Ali and his songs have been pretty much banished from the internet and the web because they are sooooo offensive. Grow a fucking sense of humor, you crybabies. Or are you really so stupid that you think "Hitler's Suicide Note" is some sort of ode to the little man with the silly 'stache? (Someone who might hate censorship and self-righteous, overly sensitive assholes as much as we do appears to have preserved Rucka-Rucka's catalogue. Good for him/her/shim-shimsharee/whatever pronoun it should be!

It's International Dance Day!

It's late in the day, but we finally caught up with the Shades of Gray Dancers, and they are as light on their feet as ever--literally dancing on water!

They are so excited about it being International Dance Day, and that it is possible to squeeze in an observance for another year at Shades of Gray, they feel like their on top of the world!

One problem with the Shades of Gray Dancers is that they don't like being confined to theatres and stages. They want to perform in natural, open-air settings...

... and they really love performing during, and in the middle of, natural disasters!

They would also love to see a revival of the whole notion of photographing dancers against the backdrop of nukes going off. They are reportedly working toward acquiring a North Korean bomb for just that purpose!

Of course, the biggest problem with the Shades of Gray Dancers is that they don't actually exist. All images of them in this post were computer generated over at OpenArt.ai... and they are but wisps of imaginings, as substantive as mists.

Maybe next year, we'll get back to pictures of REAL dancers on this International Dance Day!

Something's afoot...

She just went tiptoeing (although not exactly quietly) across the lobby outside our offices. Where is she going?

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Here's a little something from Dutch cartoonist Peter van Straaten:

Art by Peter van Straaten
(English translation by Steve Miller)

Whether you think you're in love or not, when the partner says "no" or otherwise rebuffs you're sexual advances, stop. Back off. Put your pants back on and your hands in the pockets. If you keep going, you're committing sexual assault (at least) or even rape (at worst).
