How to 'Cop Watch' (and related matters)

There are a lot of stupid people saying very stupid things on YouTube, pretending to be civil rights activists and experts in . If you follow the examples they set on their rediculous videos, you're likely to get a ticket (where you might have gotten nothing or perhaps just a warning) or perhaps even get arrested.

If you're of a mind to "cop watch" (or otherwise be a Champion of the People while waving your cellphone around), you should read and pay attention to the advice offered below. It was put together by groups that have been "cop watching" since the 1970s and who are not trying to make themselves look impressive for dimwits in a YouTube audience.

It's the Sunday Funnies!

This strip (by Hansen) dates from the early 1970s, yet it could have been drawn today. Have things gotten worse or has crime always been out of control?

How Reed and Sue spent Valentine's Day

Today, we present a very special pictorial about how Reed and Sue Richards (of the Fantastic Four) spent Valentine's Day.

The day began with a message from their sworn enemy (and Reed's old college roommate) Dr. Doom in which he stated, "Doom shall not threaten you on this day, because I respect the love and dedication you have shown each other through the years. Tomorrow is soon enough for my revenge."

And then it was off for a day of fun and romance, without the chaos that seemed to follow their teammates Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm around. (Johnny and Ben watched the kids while Reed and Sue relaxed.)

But it was the night that was truly eventful... and Sue may be announcing another period of maternity leave from the FF in a few months.

Happy birthday to Jennifer Aniston!

American actress Jennifer Aniston turns 55 years old today.

Aniston fell in love with acting at the age of 11, and her career began in earnest during the early 1990s with a leading role on the very short-lived sit-com "Molloy" (1992) and a starring role in the horror film "Leprechaun" (1993). In 1994, she cast as Rachel in the sit-com "Friends" and she played that role until 2004. The show is still broadcast in re-runs around the world, and it is the part for which she remains best known.

Aniston has kept a busy acting schedule for three decades now, and she shows no sign of wanting to rest on her laurels yet. We now celebrate her time in front of cameras with a few pictures. Enjoy!

Welcome to February!

If I was going to sell booze to old-school fantasy roleplaying game players, I'd use art like this ad that originally appeared in Jugend (1908).
